Intern Magazine -
The layout design, range of paperstocks and the use of the typography, especially in this issue are what drew me to Intern for ideas. I like the magazine style format and want to implement that into my report, I feel it's more welcoming in this instance and can feel more recognizable and sometimes easier to read and engage with. I want to incorporate both text and imagery and thing a typical magazine format does that quite well.
I love the variation of paperstocks throughout the magazine and feel it could work well in my report. The use of varying paperstock could be implemented across each creatives' section of the report much like Intern does with their stock. The idea that the report does not have to be confined to a singular stock is an interesting one to play with and I think can work well when having a large number of features from varying creatives.
The use of various typography in the magazine is really nice. I like the hierarchy of big, bold titles and quotations throughout the features, as well as the full page typographic based pieces across some of the magazine.
Grey -
Again I looked at Grey for their magazine style approach. I like the hierarchy of the QnA features, with a clear format of question and answer, it's easy to follow and simple.
The use of imagery and typography together works really well here, with big, bold, simple headers and imagery that breaks up the text and negative space but doesn't take away from the type.
The use of double page image spreads and typography are really nice and something I want to incorporate into my report to make it more substantial, i don't want a full report of text and no imagery.
